I'm nitpicking: the author says these 49 commands are from the four Gospels but he actually cites none from Mark, three from John, four from Luke and 42 from Matthew. But I agree: It is important to distinguish Jesus' teachings from Paul's. Jesus taught about how to live in community HERE ON EARTH. Paul focused on the resurrection and the atonement for sins by Christ's crucifixion. Paul never spoke to Jesus and ignored the apostles who lived and worked with Jesus in his ministry. Incidentally, despite the order in which they appear in the New Testament, Paul wrote his epistles decades prior to the Gospels. And of the four canonical gospels, Mark was written approximately 70 AD, Matthew between 80 and 85, Luke 90 or so, and John 100 to maybe 110.
